I’m Maca

Hi! I am Macarena Morelli. I am a UX/UI designer based in Seattle originally from Chile. I love to get immerse users’ everyday lives, to understand their daily experiences, and to help them solve their problems.

In my past role as an architectural designer, I focused deeply on real user needs, often putting them above just investor ideas. I believe great design comes from really listening and closely watching how people act, aiming to fix their problems simply. I like connecting with people, understanding their feelings and thoughts, and using these insights in my designs. Now, as a UX/UI designer, I mix my creative side with my ability to understand people to make strong products and experiences.

My art creations

I've recently launched an Instagram account where I share my unique recipes, known for being quick, easy, and mostly healthy!

The concept for this project began with the search for an iconic symbol of Seattle that also represented accessibility. The Space Needle emerged as the perfect choice, an iconic landmark that is not only visually striking but also a place accessible to everyone, including those with disabilities.

Process:

Logo Design

From my background as an architectural designer to my current role as a UX designer, I've always been deeply passionate about accessibility. I firmly believe that creating accessible designs is essential for fostering an empathetic society and building a better world for everyone. Accessible design isn't just about meeting regulatory requirements; it's about enhancing usability and inclusivity, leading to better design.

This project involved creating a logo for the accessibility community in the Seattle area..

To design this logo, I began by deconstructing the Space Needle into basic geometric shapes such as triangles, ellipses, rectangles, and lines. This approach ensured that the essence of the Space Needle was simplified into easily recognizable elements, making the logo accessible and understandable to all.
